1: Custom Blackout Curtains Reduce Light and Sound
Imagine a good night’s sleep. The room’s dark, without any light coming in from cord holes or between slats. These curtains don’t just darken the room; they provide a total blackout. And it’s not just the light. The thicker fabrics from blackout curtains also block outside noises. Sounds from the street can’t be heard at all. Do you have an odd sleep schedule? Blackout curtains can help get you night-time sleep during the day. Do you have a media room that has windows?
Blackout curtains can make it dark enough for all your TV viewing pleasure. Some Hunter Douglas shades use the Duolite® system, which combines two fabric panels in a single shade. One of the panels filters light, and the other blocks it.

If you believe custom blackout curtains only come in one color, black, surprise! The fabrics are available in various colors, patterns, and geometric shapes. You can even get them in white if you want to have a more neutral or lighter vibe in your space.
Typically, blackout curtains use thicker materials. However, you can also add a blackout liner to any fabric to block out the light in the rooms you want them in. Select the style you prefer and get the colors of your choice.
Some blinds are also available in the blackout style with the de-Light™ feature. This hides the cord holes so light can’t get through them. You can add it to Hunter Douglas wood blinds, faux wood blinds, or metal blinds.

When you select custom blackout curtains, you’re getting drapery made for your windows. The same is true of custom shades and blinds. The custom measurements mean they fit perfectly, without any light entering through the sides or edges or between the closed slats of blinds.
Your curtains will extend wider and higher than your windows and to the length you prefer. This prevents light from entering through the sides and edges.
